The major public problems currently faced globally, such as severe traffic congestion, frequent accidents and environmental pollution, cannot be solved merely by increasing infrastructure construction and applying more traditional urban traffic management methods. Smart transportation, as a new model, aims to guide people to directly perceive, store, share, interact and provide comprehensive services through new technologies and concepts. It is an integrated core technology of perception, artificial intelligence, communication, mobile internet, energy management, vehicle-road coordination and smart connected vehicles in the new era. It is widely expected that the solution of modern intelligent urban transportation services driven by multiple new-generation information technologies such as AI, Internet of Things and big data will bring about significant changes. According to statistics, high-tech companies represented by Alibaba Cloud, Baidu and Didi have cooperated with local governments to build the City Brain platform. Currently, it has shown initial results in the application of technologies such as traffic signal control, traffic flow regulation and peak alarm. Based on this, this book starts from smart transportation and analyzes and elaborates on various transportation paths such as smart buses, smart logistics, smart airports and smart ports. Finally, it proposes management strategies for smart transportation, hoping to provide some references and inspirations for colleagues.
