Current academic research on social security in China, some of which starts from criminology, focuses on crime prevention and punishment, advocating for strengthening the modern professional capabilities of specialized agencies in terms of technical equipment, functional setup, power operation, and personnel management. Some research, starting from management science, advocates drawing on Western new public management theories to introduce market mechanisms into the field of social security services and implement diversified supply of social security services. Some research, from a legal perspective, emphasizes the construction of a social security legal system under the background of a law-based country, a law-based government, and a law-based society, and integrating social security into the legal track.
