For a long time, high school English teaching has been influenced by the college entrance examination. Teachers' teaching methods are mixed with strong purposefulness and utilitarianism. During the teaching process, teachers only focus on getting high scores, and the entire teaching time is spent on examination points and key knowledge. Teachers' focus is on students' proficiency in mastering words, sentence patterns, and essay templates. The teaching methods are also relatively monotonous, mainly relying on students' memorization. This backward teaching concept has led to the neglect of the cultivation of students' core subject literacy. Under the traditional teaching model, students are essentially just exam machines, only capable of answering questions and completely lacking core subject literacy. Once they enter society, all the English knowledge they have learned will return to zero. In conclusion, the construction of core subject literacy in high school English is not ideal at present. Therefore, it is urgent to integrate core subject literacy in high school English with high school English teaching.
