In the era of globalization, all countries face challenges from foreign cultures. English education is at the forefront of national cultural security. While safeguarding the interests of the country and the people, it should uphold the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, enhance learners 'sense of identity with their mother tongue culture, defend national cultural security, and seek common development of all countries in the world. In this case, college English teaching is particularly important. This chapter introduces the basic issues of college English from three aspects: basic issues of college English teaching, teachers and students of college English teaching, and college English teaching evaluation research, so that readers can better understand college English teaching.
