Culture is the best evidence of a country or a nation's continuous development and growth. Since the late Qing Dynasty, with the arrival of the powerful warships and cannons of Western powers, ancient China gradually became a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society. At the same time, various economic components emerged in Chinese society, including the remnants of the feudal economy and the nascent capitalist economy. The interweaving of these economic structures gave rise to a variety of modern cultures. Moreover, due to the diversity and uneven development of the modern Chinese economy, modern culture also presented complex and regional characteristics. For modern Chinese culture in its transitional and painful period, as it was directly "transplanted" from the soil of feudal culture, Chinese intellectuals did not criticize and innovate it from the perspective of cultural awareness. Therefore, in the formation of modern culture, it not only needed to confront traditional feudal ethical culture but also had to accept the impact of Western culture. This collision of ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign cultures, on the one hand, led to a series of transformations and evolutions of Chinese traditional culture after being impacted by Western modern civilization, causing the gradual disintegration of the old cultural system and the beginning of cultural "awakening"; on the other hand, it also gave birth to new core contents of modern culture, promoting the rise and revival of various forms of modern Chinese culture, and enabling different types of modern culture to burst forth and shine in their own ways.
